New Delhi: Amid protests against the Agneepath recruitment scheme in several states, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday (June 18) announced that 10% of job vacancies in the Defense Ministry would be reserved for soldiers recruited under the ‘Agneepath’, scheme. . Meeting the requisite eligibility criteria. “100% reservation will be implemented in Indian Coast Guard and Defense Civilian posts and all 16 Defense Public Sector Undertakings. This reservation will be in addition to the existing reservation for ex-servicemen,” RMO India quoted Singh as saying. Singh assured that necessary amendments would be made in the recruitment plan to implement these provisions. “Defence Public Sector Undertakings will be advised to make similar amendments in their respective Recruitment Rules. Provision for relaxation in the required age will also be made,” Singh said.

The decision was taken by Rajnath Singh after a meeting with the service chiefs- Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Choudhary in Delhi today.
