Punjab Congress President Navjot Sidhu has also come forward after the FIR was registered in Mohali against veteran Akali leader Bikram Majithia. Sidhu called it the first step. Sidhu said that it was a slap on the face of those who slept on this serious issue for years. Sidhu also patted the new working DGP of Punjab, Siddharth Chattopadhyay. Sidhu said that this is the result of giving powerful command to honest officers.

Badal family and Captain were running the corrupt system in Punjab

Sidhu said that for five and a half years Badal family and Captain Amarinder Singh ran a corrupt system in Punjab, in which no action was taken on the report of Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Special Task Force (STF). After all, now the first step has been taken by giving command to honest officers in this matter.

Been demanding for 4 years, I will not give up till the completion of the sentence

Sidhu said that a case has been registered against Majithia in the Crime Branch of Punjab Police. Sidhu termed Majithia as the main accused of drug smuggling in Punjab. This case has been registered on the basis of STF report in February 2018, for which he was demanding for the last 4 years. There can be no justice until the main culprit of the drug mafia is punished. He will keep fighting till the punishment is given.

On the insistence of Sidhu, first the AG changed, then the DGP

Punjab Congress President Navjot Sidhu continued to raise the issue of sacrilege and drugs. Sidhu, on the insistence, removed the first advocate APS Deol from the post of Advocate General. In his place, Advocate DS Patwalia was made the new AG as per the instructions of Sidhu. After this Sidhu removed Iqbalpreet Sahota from the DGP’s chair. In his place, Siddharth Chattopadhyay was appointed as DGP, after which this sudden action has taken place.
