After empty liquor bottles were found in the Bihar Assembly premises, Leader of Opposition (LoP) Tejashwi Yadav said on Wednesday that the incident highlights the failure of the administration to enforce prohibition.
He also demanded the resignation of Bihar Chief Minister (CM) Nitish Kumar from the post of Home Minister. Speaking to news agency ANI, Yadav said, “It is shameful that (empty) liquor bottles were found in the Bihar Assembly premises. It shows the failure of the administration (in implementing prohibition).”
“The Home Minister should resign. Those in power are giving protection to the liquor mafia,” he said.
The Chief Minister had said on Tuesday that he would ask the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police to conduct a probe and said criminals should not be spared. There is a complete ban on any type of liquor in Bihar since April 2016.
