On Afghanistan, US President Joe Biden said, “We have about 6,000 troops on the ground providing runway protection and mountain division standing guard around the airport (in Kabul, Afghanistan) and maritime support for civilian departures.” It is one of the largest and toughest airlifts in history. We have secured the airport (in Kabul) enabling flights to resume not only military flights but also civilian charters from other countries and NGOs taking out civilians and vulnerable Afghans.
