The girl, along with other refugees who spoke to reporters, was not identified by age or name under an agreement with South Korean government officials.
The Justice Ministry said it was offering Korean language classes to refugees as part of a “social integration program” and that all had received foreign registration cards.
Officials said they were currently living in processing facilities.
“Most of my experience living in Afghanistan so far has been war, and when I heard the history I heard from my parents, I only heard about war,” a boy from a Taekwondo class told reporters. “Now, life in Korea is stable and I am enjoying life.”
