Jayaram took to Instagram to share a picture of himself playing the role of Kalamukhan in Ponniyin Selvan 2.
In the picture, Jayaram plays a monk with unwashed hair, long beard and vibhuti to make the character more realistic.
The team of Ponniyin Selvan 2 is leaving no stone unturned to promote their film. The team is touring across the country and the audience is excited to watch the sequel of the Mani Ratnam directorial. To increase the promotion, the team has released a sneak peek of the film in which Malayalam actor Jayaram can be seen in a brand new look. Jayaram shared a closer look at his character from the scene on Instagram.
In the picture, Jayaram donned the look of a monk with unwashed hair, long beard and vibhuti to make the character’s look more realistic. He can also be seen with a woolen cloth tied on his left shoulder.
“Check out this cool look as ‘Kalamukhan’ from PS2,” he captioned the post.
Fans are in awe of the makeover done by the actor for his character in the film. One of the Instagram users commented in the comment section, “You nailed it, sir.” Another fan said, “At first I thought it was Asif Ali but what a wonderful change looking forward to PS2.”

On Wednesday, Lyca Productions released a glimpse of the film featuring Karthi and Jayaram in their roles. The caption of the tweet read, “The inseparable pair! Catch a glimpse of Ponniyin Selvan 2 starring our favorites Vanthiyathevan and Nambi!”
The video begins with Karthi’s character Vanthiyathevan being tied up and it is night time when he sees a figure rapidly passing by and thinks it might be a ghost. He then starts chanting so it stays away from him. After a few frames, Jayaram as Kalamukhan enters the scene. When Vanthiyathevan recognized Nambi, he asked her to be freed. By the end of the clip, the banter between the two will leave you rolling in laughter.

The epic fantasy drama has a stellar star cast featuring Vikram, Jayaram Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Trisha are in pivotal roles. Ponniyin Selvan is based on the novel of the same name by Kalki. The second part is all set to hit the theaters on 28th April. The film is being bankrolled by Lyca Productions along with Madras Talkies.
