Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala briefed the media about the complaint filed against Amit Shah.

The Congress lodged an FIR against Home Minister Amit Shah in Bengaluru on Thursday. In the complaint, Amit Shah has been accused of making inflammatory statements, spreading hatred and tarnishing the image of the opposition. Amit Shah had given a statement at a rally in Karnataka that if the Congress came to power, there would be communal riots in the state. Congress has filed a complaint regarding this statement.

Complaints of other BJP leaders along with Amit Shah
Congress leaders Randeep Singh Surjewala, Dr. Parameshwara and Congress Karnataka President DK Shivakumar have filed a complaint at the High Grounds Police Station in Bengaluru. Apart from Amit Shah, the names of other BJP leaders and people who organized the Vijayapura rally are also there.

DK Shivakumar said how can Amit Shah make such a statement. We have lodged a complaint with the Election Commission in this matter. Mallikarjun Kharge has also criticized Shah’s statement in a public meeting.

Said in the complaint – Shah’s speech was full of false statements
The complaint states that Amit Shah’s speech was full of false statements. Its objective was to tarnish the image of the Congress party by making false and baseless allegations. With this, Shah wanted to create an atmosphere of communal disharmony between the people who attended the rally and those who watched the speech on other platforms.

The video of Shah’s speech has also been given in the complaint. Sections 153, 505(2), 171G and 120B are mentioned in the FIR.

Parties putting strength in election campaign
Elections are to be held in Karnataka on 10 May. Due to this, rallies of big BJP leaders including PM Modi, Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh are being held in the state. On the other hand, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge are also holding rallies in the state.
