“It is with a heavy heart that I have taken the decision to resign from TNBJP for not providing an opportunity for an investigation, equal rights and respect for women. Women are not safe under the leadership of Annamalai. I prefer to be trolled as an outsider,” Gayatri tweeted, tagging Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the party’s national president JP Nadda and national general secretary BL Santosh.

“No one cares about the true workers, the pursuit of the true workers by Annamalai is the only goal. I wish the BJP all the best,” she said in another tweet.

Days before she was dropped and suspended from the party, BJP Sports and Skill Development Cell President Amar Prasad Reddy accused her of meeting a family member of Chief Minister MK Stalin and reacted angrily, ” There is no place for traitors in the BJP.” however, retracted saying that it was her friend’s birthday party and she had no idea who had been invited.

Announcing her suspension, Annamalai ordered an inquiry into another office-bearer ‘Trichy’ Surya Siva for making derogatory remarks against party leader Daisy Saran. He warned the office bearers to talk to YouTube channels without the consent of the leadership.

In a series of tweets, Gayatri said that she took the decision to resign because of Annamalai. “…thanks to all the karyakartas with whom I worked for 8 years, with whom I shared immense love and respect. It was a great trip,” she said.

The choreographer said that it is not Hindu religion to hurt others and claimed that she cannot work under the leadership of Annamalai. “Can’t expect social justice. Stay safe ladies, don’t rely on someone to save you. No one is going to come. You are alone believe yourself. Never live where you are not respected,” she said.
