‘Action required, not words, otherwise…’: Raj Thackeray to govt on Manipur horror

Manipur woman paraded naked: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray in a statement on Thursday termed the incident in Manipur as barbaric and shameful for the government.

Acknowledging that the Prime Minister has condemned the incident, Raj Thackeray said words are not enough and action is the need of the hour.

In a long note on Twitter, Raj said, “The visuals being circulated on various social media regarding the barbaric incident in Manipur are heart-wrenching and a matter of shame to the government.”

“I had written to the Prime Minister and the Home Minister appealing them to intervene and find a solution on an urgent basis. Unfortunately things remain as they are and it is a great tragedy. The perpetrators of this heinous act must be hanged.” Till death,” he said.

The MNS chief said, “If the central government does not take a strong stand, I appeal to our President to intervene. The incidents happening in Manipur since last 3 months have not only harmed Manipur but the entire country. If after a few years, something very harmful and harmful happens, the government will be responsible.”
