The 30-member CBI team has been divided into five parts and a marathon investigation is going on from place to place in search of the perpetrators of this massacre. Meanwhile, nine accused including original accused Anarul Hussain were questioned.

Police found firearms and cartridges factory in Malda. The police have come to know about the factory of making firearms and ammunition in Debiganj village of Malda Chanchal police station area. The police recovered 38 cartridges and various arms and ammunition making equipment. Chanchal police has already arrested a person named Santosh Karmakar. A huge quantity of ammunition was recovered from his house. Police is probing who else is involved in the incident.

Many accused of Birbhum murder case are feared to be absconding

On the other hand, apart from Birbhum, in many other districts, the accused are likely to abscond, about which the CBI is using police intelligence. Sources in the central agency have told that 70 to 80 people together had carried out the arson in the village. Out of these, only 11 people have been caught, the rest are absconding. The arrested people are being interrogated continuously for the last four days and the search for the suspects has intensified. The special thing is that the CBI has been given the privilege by the High Court that whoever is suspected can be arrested, so the central agency has started running a fast-track operation. On the other hand, Mihilal Shaikh, who had lost his family and people after the incident, who had taken refuge elsewhere, has returned to Bagtui village. Sources have told that he returned to the village on Wednesday only after being assured of security by the CBI.

Police officers were also questioned

Apart from this, the CBI has made a list of those firefighters and policemen of the police station who reached the spot first, so that the investigation can be done in a better way and for the CBI team to understand all the incidents better.
