The NC leader said that 900 youths accused of stone pelting in the past have been arrested ahead of the Home Minister’s visit to the Union Territory.
“Will you achieve peace by arresting the youth? Your policies are not conducive to J&K and the fact that you are polarizing the people and posing a big threat to the country in view of the upcoming elections in Uttar Pradesh. are,” she said.
Abdullah said it was better for the BJP to win the election in Uttar Pradesh by “spreading hatred and dividing communities”.
He said that no one is ready to come to Kashmir in view of the emerging situation, which has led to the exodus of laborers and Kashmiri Pandits, who got jobs here under the Prime Minister’s package.
“They are looking for investors but who will come to invest in the current situation? I don’t see any development in Jammu and Kashmir (after abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution in 2019). They (Centre) created 50,000 jobs. But where have these jobs gone? Inflation has broken the back of the poor.
He urged the government to pay salaries to Kashmiri Pandits, who have returned to Jammu out of fear.
Referring to the all-party meeting chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi In New Delhi, Abdullah said no concrete steps were taken as promised by him to remove “Delhi ki Doori and Dil ki Doori”.
