As early trends started pouring in around 9 am, giving AAP eight to 13 seats, an uneasy calm was observed at the AAP office, where party workers said the crowd would start gathering as the day progressed. And it did.
By 12.30 pm, the campus was abuzz, with senior leaders like Singh and Gopal Rai arriving, drummers beating drums, workers dancing to the beats, boondi laddoos and tea being distributed in the hot sun. Just then two autorickshaws loaded with packets of sweets and snacks reached the office.

The party waited till 2 pm for the trends to be clear and confirmed Election Commission to make a formal announcement on its ‘national’ status.

Soon after, there was loud cheering and sloganeering at the Maidan, where three senior party leaders – Singh, Gopal Rai and Pankaj Gupta – arrived to address party workers and the media.
By 4 pm, the party had won five seats with a vote share of 13%.
