New Delhi: For the first time in the history of independent India, the extent of misgovernance has reached such a level, where an open mockery of public confidence has been streamed live on television, said AAP national spokesperson and MLA Raghav Chadha. Recalling how former Goa Governor Satya Pal Malik launched a scathing attack against Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and exposed the long-running corruption in the state.
Interestingly, both the people are strong BJP leaders with close ties to the Prime Minister, who has remained silent on the matter. Aam Aadmi Party has demanded that BJP CM Pramod Sawant in Goa should be immediately sacked and an independent inquiry should be ordered against him.
Raghav Chadha said that when PM Modi was made aware of the continuous corruption in Goa, he transferred the Governor instead of sacking the CM. He said that PM Modi’s statement of ‘na khaunga, na khane dounga’ is hollow like all his ‘jumlas’ and gives a free pass to his chief ministers for corruption.
Chadha further said that when Goa CM Pramod Sawant Should have worked to save lives during covid, he was busy filling his treasury and collecting the wrongly earned money.
The people of Goa will never tolerate corruption in the government and will not forgive the BJP. He said that the only difference between the BJP and the Congress is that the Congress did corruption in an unorganized manner and the BJP has given it a well-organized structure.
Chadha reiterated that if PM Modi does not sack Pramod Sawant, it will become clear that BJP’s central command is complicit in the exploitation, scams and corruption of the Goa government.

Malik Sahab was a Rajya Sabha member since 1980, became a Lok Sabha member in 1989; Served as the governor of Odisha, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir during the repeal of Article 370, Goa, and has since been appointed as the governor of Meghalaya where he currently serves.
While talking to a journalist, he revealed some horrifying news that the BJP government in Goa and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has committed corruption at every step.
He elaborated that during the COVID-19 crisis, the Goa government was busy with its blatant scams and corrupt activities, while it should have fed their helpless stomachs, supplied oxygen to those who died. And it is not any opposition party or group, AAP or Congress, blaming him, but a governor appointed by the BJP.
The former Goa Governor said that he saw during his tenure, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant committed scams, that every branch of the Goa government is deeply affected by corruption.
Throwing light on Satyapal Malik’s reprehensible revelations, Raghav Chadha said, “I stand by my comments on the BJP government’s mishandling of Covid in Goa. There was corruption in everything the Goa government did. I was fired for my allegations of corruption against the Goa government. I am a Lohiawadi, I spent time with Charan Singh, I cannot tolerate corruption. This was done at the insistence of a company that had given money to the government. I asked my people, including those from Congress, to investigate. I investigated the matter and informed the Prime Minister. He asked the same people who are behind the plan about the allegation. They will not accept, because they are wrong. There is an area near the airport where trucks used for mining pass. I asked the government to stop them instead of Kovid. And then it became a hotspot of Kovid. Today people in the country are afraid to speak the truth.
AAP leader Raghav Chadha, commenting on Satyapal Malik’s statement, said, “So when the governor approached Prime Minister Modi with serious corruption allegations, he opted to remove the one who exposed corruption instead of a corrupt CM. This is the same Prime Minister Modi who had said ‘Na Khaunga, Na Khane Dunga._’ (Neither will corruption nor allow anyone to do so. Found enabling corruption and turning a blind eye.)”
“This is the same government which will say ‘Bahut Hua Corruption. Abki Baar Modi Sarkar’. They are giving free passes to their Chief Ministers to loot as much money as they want. People of Goa will do this gross corruption at the hands of Pramod Sawant and his government. won’t tolerate it.”
“This is not a political allegation. It is not being alleged by any political opposition, but by the Governor of the same state appointed by the BJP – first seen and investigated the corruption of the Goa government during his tenure The BJP-led Goa government is not really working in the interest of the people but to fill the coffers of its party.”
He further said, “Never in the history of independent India or in my brief political career have I seen a governor occupy an important constitutional post, a chief minister’s scandal exposed so much. This is a significant development in India’s political trajectory. We should take due cognizance of the matter.”
“The Aam Aadmi Party today makes two important demands: First, we demand that Pramod Sawant resign immediately. He has no right to remain in the position of power after the recent revelations. Second, we demand a judicial inquiry into the scam. Let us demand a probe,” Chadha said.
“This cannot be done by the Goa government or any central government agency as they are biased and under the control of the BJP. An independent judicial inquiry is necessary into the corruption of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and the Goa government,” he said.
The senior AAP leader further said, “It is noteworthy that the Chief Ministers of the UPA government and Congress left no stone unturned to loosen their pockets. But it is the BJP which is streamlining the process of corruption. They organized the entire setup. did, gave it a structure and are managing it more efficiently than their governments.”
He said, “The only difference between the Congress and the BJP is, the former did corruption in a very crude way, the BJP has given it a shape. We don’t just want the resignation of Goa CM Pramod Sawant at this time, but we Chadha. Said, ‘Na Khaunga Na Khane Dunga’, demand from the person who says ‘Bahut Hua Corruption’ that this time Modi Sarkar, our Prime Minister should come forward and talk to the people in this matter and give an explanation.’
“We must not forget that these allegations are not leveled by any opposition leader, this is one of the senior most leaders of the BJP, a governor with a splendid portfolio and one of the PM’s most trusted persons. If the PM is on his own If the governor does not act on the allegations, it will be clear that the BJP government at the Center is in collusion with the BJP government in Goa. This would mean that the money mined in Goa reaches all the way to the top of the ladder. On behalf of the people, AAP demands that Goa CM Pramod Sawant be immediately sacked. This man is no longer fit to be in power. He has lost all rights to his seat,” Chadha further said.
