Before the expansion of the Modi cabinet, there has been a flurry of resignations of old ministers. 43 ministers will take oath today at 6 pm, before that 12 ministers have resigned. Among the resignations of the ministers, the most shocking news came at around 5.30 pm, when the news of the resignations of Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar came. Both the ministers had got important responsibilities in the Modi government. Old age is believed to be the reason behind his resignation.

Apart from these, the effect of Corona and Bengal elections can be clearly seen behind the resignation of other ministers. In the second wave of Corona, the poor condition of health services led to the discharge of Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, while the Minister of State for his department, Ashwini Choubey, was moved. The effect of the BJP’s defeat in Bengal was also clearly visible and two Bengal ministers Babul Supriyo and Deboshri Choudhary were also shown the way out of the cabinet.

Thaawarchand Gehlot appointed as Governor of Karnataka
Union Minister Thaawarchand Gehlot has resigned on Tuesday itself. He has been made the Governor of Karnataka. He has been a minister in the first and second term of the Modi government.

11 ministers who resigned are above 60 years of age
1. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank: 61 years
Has been the 5th Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. Lok Sabha MP from Haridwar. Modi was the HRD Minister and Union Education Minister in 2.0.

2. Thaawarchand Gehlot: 73 years
He has been a Lok Sabha member from Shajapur in Madhya Pradesh. Became a Rajya Sabha MP from Madhya Pradesh. He was also the head of the house in the Rajya Sabha. He was a minister in the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in the first Modi government. He has been made the Governor of Karnataka.

3. Sadananda Gowda: 68 years
Lok Sabha MP from Bangalore North. In the Modi government, the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Law and Justice, Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation have been handled. Presently he was the Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers.

4. Santosh Gangwar: 72 Years
Lok Sabha MP from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. He has been Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Textiles. In the first cabinet of Modi 2.0, he was Minister of State (Independent Charge) in the Ministry of Labor and Employment.

5. Sanjay Dhotre: 62 years
Lok Sabha MP from Akola, Maharashtra. He was Minister of State for Education, Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology and Minister of State in the Ministry of Information in the Modi cabinet.

7. Pratap Sarangi: 66 Years
In 2019, became a Lok Sabha MP from Balasore, Odisha. He was the Minister of State for the Ministry of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries along with the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.

8. Ratan Lal Kataria- 69 Years
In 2014, he became a Lok Sabha MP from Ambala, Haryana. In the first cabinet of Modi 2.0, he was the Minister of State in the Ministry of Jal Shakti.

9. Ashwini Kumar Choubey: 68 years
Lok Sabha MP from Buxar, Bihar. He was the Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare in the Modi cabinet.

10. Ravi Shankar Prasad: 61 years
Ravi Shankar Prasad was the Law Minister in the Modi government.

11. Prakash Javadekar: 70 Years
Prakash Javadekar, who was the Minister of Information and Broadcasting in the Modi government, was often seen during cabinet briefings.
