The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi launched Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) on January 22, 2015 in Panipat, Haryana. The Ministry of Women and Child Development, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Ministry of Human Resource Development collaborated in this. The strategy includes implementation of PC and PNDT Acts, nationwide information and advocacy campaigns, and multi-sectoral action in 100 districts with low CSR. On the ground, mindset change is emphasized through training, sensitization, awareness raising and community mobilization. Seven years after the campaign, the ratio of girls to boys has increased for the first time in India since 1901. At present, there are 1020 girls out of 1000 boys in India.
