65 year old man lynched to death Kanpur News – Times of India

Kanpur: A 65-year-old man was beaten to death in Hajipur village of Bidhanu late on Monday night.
The victim had gone to guard the vegetable crop at the time of the incident. The incident came to light when the villagers saw the victim’s body lying in a pool of blood on Tuesday. He immediately informed the police.
The deceased used to look after 30-35 bighas of land of his son-in-law living in the city.
Police reached the spot with a team of forensic experts and collected evidence.
Police have identified the deceased as Vijaykant Mishra, a resident of Matiyara village. He married his elder daughter Lakshmi in 2002 to Kaushal Kishore, a resident of Hajipur, Bidhnu.
According to the police, after marriage, her son-in-law and daughter started living in Naubasta area of ​​the city. After the death of Kaushal’s father in 2006, the victim started taking care of his son-in-law’s agricultural property in Hajipur, due to which he often visited Hajipur.
“On Monday morning, he left his home in Matiyara for Hajipur but did not return home till Monday evening. At around one o’clock on Tuesday afternoon, the villagers saw Vijay’s body lying in a pool of blood in the fields.
“Police said that the criminals had killed Vijay with a brick. His bike was found parked on the road about 500 meters away from the spot.
Circle Officer Ghatampur Pawan Gautam reached the spot along with police force and forensic team and started investigation.
The CO said, “Investigation is on. The body has been sent for post-mortem. Now we are waiting for its report. Action will be taken based on the complaint.”
