When asked about the status of Mewat cadre, the department said that out of over 3,500 sanctioned posts, only 2,500 posts were filled. The department further said that it has started the process of filling up these posts and has sent a letter to the Haryana Staff Selection Committee for the same.
Meanwhile, teachers’ unions said the state government has failed to fulfill its poll promise of filling up the vacant posts. Dushyant Thakran, district head of Haryana Primary Teachers Association, said, “There is a heavy workload on teachers and the government is closing schools instead of filling the sanctioned posts.”
