33% government jobs in Tripura reserved for women: Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday announced on the occasion of International Women’s Day that 33 percent government jobs in Tripura will be reserved for women. Addressing a rally here on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the BJP-IPFT government in the northeastern state, he said Biplab Deb’s administration has put a complete stop to political violence.

Shah claimed that in the present government, the income of farmers has doubled and per capita income has increased to Rs 1.3 lakh. “Agartala is connected with the rest of the country through rail. A total of 542 km of national highways have been built.

The Union Home Minister said that there has been a 30 per cent decline in heinous crimes in Tripura and the conviction rate has increased from 5 per cent to 53 per cent. Shah said the ruling government would fulfill all the promises made in the previous manifesto and he would return to Tripura to seek votes. Assembly elections will be held in the northeastern state early next year.
