28% growth in e-commerce hiring in 2021: TeamLease – Times of India

During the year, demand was high for roles in supply chain management, warehousing (distribution officers, movers, pickers, packers, loaders), support services and customer service management.
Even tier-II to -4 sectors saw a rise in hiring as e-commerce moved into the interior of the country. Kolkata and Gurgaon were seen as the top sectors for employment in these sectors in the last quarter.
The companies also provided higher remuneration to the employees during the year. Many introduced unique benefits and compensation such as relaxing their attendance policies, changing schedules, providing additional sick leave and flexibility in exploring childcare options. TeamLease Services VP Ajoy Thomas He said that many new job opportunities will be added in 2022 and there will be a 32 per cent increase in hiring during the year.
