22 crore loss to 9k depositors; Firm boss held | Thane News – Times of India

Thane: The Economic Offenses Wing of Thane Police has arrested the director of a financial institution for duping over 9,000 investors of over Rs 22 crore.
A police officer told that the accused Arun Raghuanth Gandhi, 75, resident of Subhashnagar, along with other accused had established a company named Sampark Agro Multi-State Cooperative Society Ltd. And launched various schemes promising high returns. “They accepted investments from depositors by promising them attractive returns, but neither returned them the principal nor paid them any interest,” said a police officer.
Police investigated the matter Rekha Zope 57, who lost Rs 35.3 lakh, have lodged a complaint at Vishnu Nagar police station in Dombivli.
