West Indies finished at 88-3 in their second innings after resuming 49-3 on the fourth day and needed 35 more runs to win the series opener.

John Campbell hit the winning six as West Indies needed only seven overs to beat Bangladesh by seven wickets in the first Test on Sunday.

Campbell ramped up his scoring rate on Sunday and ended the match with a six at long off against Najmul Hossain Shanto. He hit nine fours and a six in his unbeaten 58. Jermaine Blackwood at the other end was undefeated for 26 when the pair came to the rescue of their team with a fourth-wicket partnership of 79.

Out-of-form Bangladesh stunned the hosts by thrashing West Indies 9-3 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium on Saturday.

West Indies scored 265 runs in their first innings. Bangladesh had 103 and 245.

Bangladesh medium pacer Khalid Ahmed, who took three wickets in 11 balls on the third day, could not take a break again. He finished with 3-27 in eight overs.

The second and final Test starts on Friday.
