BHUBANESWAR: 16 new cases have been reported in the capital city dengue Till Wednesday. With this, the total number of dengue cases in the city has gone up to 107 this season. To prevent further spread of this disease, the health department has intensified the awareness campaign.
The total number of dengue cases on July 8 stood at 39. 68 cases have been reported in a week. An official source said that no case of death has been reported this year.
Additional District Urban Public Health Officer (ADU-PHO) Bhubaneswar Antaryami Mishra said that 16 new cases of dengue have been reported. Neeladri Viharhandjob Sailashree Vihar and other surrounding areas. “A total of 107 cases have been reported from the city since January. Most of them have already recovered from the disease,” he said.
So far, cases of dengue have been reported from Chandrashekharpur, Sailashree Vihar, Niladri Vihar, Unit-VIII and other areas of the city. public health officials and Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has started taking preventive measures in the area to control the disease.
“To avoid mosquito bites, use mosquito repellents, eliminate stagnant water, cover open water containers and use long-lasting insecticide nets while sleeping. Stay safe from Dengue and Malaria,” said an awareness message from the Department of Health and Family Welfare.
Aedes aegypti, a mosquito that spreads dengue fever, can breed in clean water. These mosquitoes help in spreading dengue virus. Therefore, people should change the water kept in different utensils for several days. “People are worried about the Covid-19 pandemic. Dengue has sprinkled salt on his wound. People need to be more careful to stay safe in this season,” said a medical official.
A public health official said that people should change the water in the air cooler every day, the water vessel in the puja room and the water container behind the refrigerator. He said that waste materials containing water should be removed from the localities.
