Yesterday’s big news was related to the Supreme Court’s decision, the ordinance to overturn it and currency. Today is an important day for global politics, because Prime Minister Modi will meet the heads of state of 11 countries. These include leaders of G7, Quad countries and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. We will also tell you the reason and location of the meeting.

  1. There will be a swearing-in ceremony of the new government in Karnataka. Siddaramaiah will take oath as Chief Minister and DK Shivakumar as Deputy CM.
  2. The CBI has summoned Abhishek Banerjee, nephew of West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, for questioning in the teacher recruitment scam. In this scam, CBI arrested the former Education Minister of Bengal, he is in jail since July 2022.

  4. There is a match between Lucknow Supergiants and Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL. If LSG wins, they will reach the playoffs. 1. ₹ 2000 notes will be out of circulation, limit to change only 10 notes at a time

2000 notes will now be out of circulation. But do not panic because RBI has given time from 23 May to 30 September to change the note. Maximum 10 notes i.e. 20 thousand will be changed at a time. But there is no limit for depositing these notes, more than 10 notes can be deposited in the account.

Till September 30, the existing 2000 notes will continue to run in the market, but banks will no longer issue 2000 notes to anyone. These notes came into the market after demonetisation in November 2016. But RBI had stopped their printing in 2018 itself.

2. Transfer-posting rights in Delhi will remain with LG, Center issues ordinance
The central government has issued an ordinance against the powers of the Delhi government. According to this, only the Lieutenant Governor will decide the transfer, posting and vigilance of officers in the capital. The Supreme Court had ordered on May 11 that the power of transfer-posting of officers would remain with the Delhi government.

Now the Center has overturned the court’s decision through an ordinance. Parliament will also pass a law related to this within 6 months. The Aam Aadmi Party says that this ordinance is in contempt of the order of the Supreme Court, PM Modi has again proved that he is a dictator.

3. There will be no carbon dating of Shivling in Gyanvapi, SC stays High Court’s decision

The Supreme Court has put a stay on the order of the Allahabad High Court regarding the scientific survey and carbon dating of the alleged Shivling found in the Gyanvapi Mosque in Varanasi. During the hearing on the petition by the Muslim side, the court said that the order of the High Court will have to be examined closely.

The next hearing will be on August 7, on the same day the UP and the central government will file their reply regarding carbon dating. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta told that the Center and the UP government will talk to the ASI (Archaeological Survey of India) on other methods of ascertaining the age of Shivling.

4. Shahrukh had said- Do not put Aryan in jail, Sameer Wankhede presented the chat in the High Court
Sameer Wankhede, who arrested Shahrukh Khan’s son Aryan in the drugs case, has handed over the chat with Shahrukh to the Bombay High Court. In this chat, Shahrukh is telling Wankhede that his son should not be put in jail, if he goes to jail, he will be broken.

In fact, the CBI alleges that Sameer had demanded Rs 25 crore to release Aryan. They have reached the High Court against this. The next hearing of the case will be on May 22. Meanwhile, Wankhede will appear before the CBI at 11 am today. He will be asked questions in this matter.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Japan to attend the G7 countries summit. Apart from this, he will also hold a meeting with the leaders of the Quad countries in Hiroshima today. Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (QUAD) – is a strategic alliance between the US, India, Japan and Australia. PM Modi will also hold a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Tokyo. This will be the first meeting between Modi and Zelensky after the start of the Russia-Ukraine war.

A cemetery committee in Morigaon district of Assam says – will not give burial place to those people who died due to drugs or intoxication. This will also apply to those who sell drugs illegally. The committee has taken this decision to keep the youth away from drugs, as many youths of the locality are victims of drug addiction.

Responding to the committee’s decision, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said that drugs worth Rs 1,430 crore have been seized in the last two years. 9,309 smugglers have been arrested. Also 420 acres of cannabis and opium cultivation have been destroyed.
