Burqa-clad girl students were denied entry in a college in Hyderabad, Telangana. The girl students said that they had gone to KV Ranga Reddy Degree College to appear for the exam, but were not allowed to enter because they were wearing a burqa.

The girl students allege that the college staff told them that burqa may be allowed in other colleges, but not in this college. The girl students said that they had to wait for an hour to take the exam. They got entry only after removing the burqa.

Telangana Home Minister said- Women should wear more clothes, we will take action against the college
Regarding this incident, Telangana Home Minister Mohammad Mahmood said on Friday that some head master or principal might have done this, but our policy is secular. People can wear whatever they want, but if you wear European clothes, it’s not right.

He said that we should wear nice clothes. Women, especially, suffer from wearing less clothes. People feel relaxed by wearing more clothes. It is not written anywhere that burqa cannot be worn. We will take action on this incident.
