Bharatiya Janata Party has undoubtedly lost the election in Himachal, but BJP’s National President Jagat Prakash Nadda has won even after losing. The BJP high command has decided to keep JP Nadda as the president for the next one year. It is clear from this that the BJP in Himachal has accepted defeat as a custom here. In which the government changes after every 5 years.

Nadda’s extension of one year is believed to be the result of his closeness with Modi-Shah. Nadda will now remain the president till June 2024. Due to which Nadda was given extension for the second consecutive time. Read on to know the reason Bhaskar’s report.

The victory of these states gave extension
Under the leadership of JP Nadda, the BJP has registered spectacular victories in the elections of other states except West Bengal and Himachal. BJP has again got the government repeated in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur, Gujarat. In Madhya Pradesh too, the BJP has formed the government under the leadership of Nadda.

BJP may not have been able to form the government in West Bengal, but it has reached 77 seats straight from 3. BJP also performed well in Bihar. Earlier, by making Nadda in-charge, BJP has performed brilliantly in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. JP Nadda has got the reward for this.

Nadda will lead the assembly elections in 9 states
Under the leadership of JP Nadda, the organization of BJP has strengthened across the country. This is the reason why the party high command has decided to contest the elections of Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Tripura, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Telangana and Rajasthan under the leadership of Nadda before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Stepped into central politics since 2010
JP Nadda belongs to Bilaspur in Himachal. In 2010, after a rift with the then Himachal CM Prem Kumar Dhumal, he decided to leave the ministerial post and go into central politics. After this he did not return to the politics of Himachal.

Nadda’s journey from Himachal to Delhi

  • During the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Nadda monitored the party’s election campaign across the country from the BJP headquarters.
  • In the year 2010, resigned from the post of minister and went to Delhi.
  • JP Nadda became the Union Health Minister in November 2014.
  • The party sent him in charge of Uttar Pradesh in January 2019. Shah had set a target of 50 per cent vote share to cut the alliance. On the basis of his strategies, Nadda was able to garner more than 49 per cent vote share for the party and BJP and its ally Apna Dal together won 64 seats.
  • On 20 January 2020, he was appointed the National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party. His tenure was extended by one year in September 2022.
  • Today again Nadda’s term was extended to June 2024.
