There was no respite from the floods in Haryana even on the fourth day. 11 districts of the state are still affected by the floods. These include Ambala, Fatehabad, Faridabad, Panchkula, Jhajjar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal, Panipat, Sonepat and Yamunanagar. Water is still standing in 854 villages in these districts.

16 people have died so far, 2 people have been injured. Four people are missing. 126 houses have been completely damaged and 106 houses have been damaged. On behalf of the government, the army has been called in Ambala, Yamunanagar, Karnal and Panipat. So far 3674 people have been rescued from the affected areas by the teams of Army and NDRF.

Even today in Haryana, Chandigarh Meteorological Department has issued heavy rain warning in 3 districts Panchkula, Ambala and Yamunanagar.

1.24 lakh hectare crop damage
Due to floods in Haryana, crops have also suffered a lot. According to the figures received so far, 1.24 lakh hectare crops have been damaged. It is a matter of relief that till now 12 relief camps have been opened by the government. So far 13 thousand food packets have been delivered to the people trapped in their homes. At the same time, many roads and bridges have also suffered a lot due to rain.

GT road belt’s 585 villages most affected
The worst condition is of GT belt. About 585 villages in the six districts of this belt, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Karnal, Kaithal, Kurukshetra and Panipat are badly affected by the floods. The contact of these villages with the district headquarters has been cut off. The condition of Kaithal, Kurukshetra is worse than before. Sangrur was also cut off from Kaithal due to the collapse of the bridge at Khanauri in Punjab. Ambala has already been cut off from Patiala. The water of the Ghaggar river filled the city of Cheeka.

People heaved a sigh of relief as the water level of Yamuna decreased in Panipat. However, it is still near the danger mark. The danger mark of Yamuna is 231.50 metres. Presently Yamuna is flowing at 230.80 metres. With this, the work of closing the Tamshabad cut has started.

Schools closed till Monday in three districts
Out of 750 schools in Ambala, 430 schools and 203 government schools in Kurukshetra are waterlogged. For this reason the schools will remain closed till Sunday. There was a holiday on Thursday in the schools of Yamuna Nagar as well. Flood-affected schools in Karnal, Panipat and Kaithal have been kept closed for the time being.
