A terrorist was killed and one injured by security forces on Saturday morning in Kandi area of Rajouri, Kashmir. The encounter is going on here since 7.30 am on Friday. During the search operation on Friday, the terrorists ambushed and exploded here, in which 5 army soldiers were martyred.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Army Chief General Manoj Pandey reached Rajouri on Saturday to take stock of the situation. Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha paid tribute to the martyred soldiers in Rajouri in the morning.
On the other hand, the encounter is going on in Karhama Kunjar of Baramulla since 4 am on Saturday. So far one terrorist has been killed here. There is information about the hiding of some more terrorists.

Difficult to find terrorists due to dense forest and hilly terrain
Kandi is a hilly area of Rajouri. There is also a dense forest. There are also caves here. Because of this there is a problem in the search operation. The Army told on Friday that the operation started here on 3 May. There was information about the presence of terrorists in the forests of Kandi in Rajouri.
On April 20, terrorists hurled a grenade at an army truck carrying fruits and vegetables for Eid in the same area, then fired indiscriminately. The truck was completely burnt in this. Five soldiers were also martyred. Since then, the Army has started ‘Operation Trinet’ in search of these terrorists.

Army’s joint operation continues, encounters at many places
An AK-56, 4 magazines of AK rifle, 9 mm pistol with magazines, grenades and an ammunition pouch have been recovered from the terrorist killed in Rajouri.
After the April 20 incident, the Army, CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police have launched a joint operation against the terrorists in the valley. Apart from this, in view of the G-20 summit in Srinagar, the security is very tight. The G-20 meeting is to be held in Srinagar from May 22 to 24 and the Amarnath Yatra is to begin from July 1.

Saturday May 6, Baramulla: In Karhama Kunjar too, an encounter between the police and the terrorists is going on since 4 am on Saturday, in which the soldiers have killed a terrorist. The slain terrorist has been identified as Abid Wani, a resident of Kulgam. He was associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba. An AK-47 rifle has been recovered from him.

Thursday 4 May, Anantnag: In the Bijbehara area of the district, the terrorists fired on the security forces on Thursday evening. In this attack, a security personnel was slightly injured, who was admitted to the hospital. The responsibility of this attack was taken by the Kashmir Tigers. The group has said in a post – Many soldiers including senior officers have been injured in the attack. Kashmir Tigers is planning more such attacks.
Thursday 4 May, Baramulla: Here on Thursday morning, two Lashkar terrorists were killed by the security forces in the Vanigam Payin Kreri area. They had received information about the presence of terrorists in the area. After this the search operation was conducted there. The terrorists fired, after which the encounter started.
Wednesday 3 May, Machil: The Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Army had foiled an infiltration bid in the Machil sector on Wednesday as well during a joint operation. In this operation also two terrorists were killed.

Terrorist attack on army truck on April 20, 5 soldiers martyred
Terrorists opened fire on an army truck in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. After this the truck caught fire, in which 5 soldiers were martyred.
