The husband was ill, the tantrik said that he would not be a doctor, but would cure him.
There is a village on the border of Prayagraj-Kaushambi district. Most of the people here go to Prayagraj to work. A family consisting of husband and wife and 5 children. He left here and started living in Prayagraj. There the husband used to work as a waiter in guest house parties and the wife was fulfilling the financial needs of the family by doing some odd jobs. Two years ago suddenly the husband started cramping due to stomach pain. Tried many doctors, got treated in hospitals, but did not get any relief.

Seeing her husband sick, the wife used to ask the neighbors about the best doctor throughout the day. One day the wife was returning home. On the way he met a woman from the village. When the wife told him about her husband’s illness, the woman said, “I have heard a lot about Raju Panda, a tantrik from Nizampur Puraini village in Kaushambi. He will cure your husband by exorcising.
As soon as the wife came to know about this, she reached Raju without wasting time. Told about her husband’s illness. Raju claimed that the medicine did not cure him, but within a few days I would cure him. The wife reached Raju with her husband. He started treatment in his own way. Sometimes he used to give cloves and sometimes he used to sniff smoke. Within a few days the woman’s husband felt at ease.
The tantrik said, “Your husband will be fine only if you make a relation with me.”
Initially, Tantrik Raju did not take even a single rupee from the victim’s family. He kept on treatment for about 1 year. Sometimes the woman’s husband would get well and sometimes he would suddenly fall ill again. One day he went to the Tantrik and said that now I cannot leave my work again and again and come here for treatment. Tantrik said, if you can’t come then send your wife. The wife insisted that the husband complete his treatment.
The husband agreed. Now instead of him the wife would go to the Tantrik. He would recite some mantras and send some things including cloves in a pudiya to her husband. It went on like this for a few months. One day the wife went to the tantrik and he said that if you want to cure your husband, then have a physical relationship with me. If you don’t do this, I will kill your husband through tantra-mantra.

After the woman, the tantrik’s eyes fell on his 15-year-old daughter
The woman refused but despite this Raju had sex with her. After that it became a rule. Every time he would call his wife and have physical relations with her. About a year ago, Raju kept the victim’s wife in his own house. At the time when he did this, apart from his wife, there were 5 children in his house.
The woman stayed there for a few days. This game continued in the name of treatment. The woman’s children used to visit her from time to time, Raju’s eyes fell on the woman’s elder daughter. The age of the girl child is 15 years in the school records. He gave the 10th examination this year but failed. When the woman came to know about this, she rebelled. Came back to her home from Tantrik’s house.
Raju also changed from here. He started demanding money for the treatment. On not giving the money, there was talk of death through tantra-mantra. The victim first borrowed Rs 30,000 and then gave Rs 25,000 to him. Even after this, Raju Panda did not stop trying to harass the family. On May 6, 2023, for the first time, the victim woman got a case registered against her daughter at Chail Chowki in the police station. The police of the outpost caught Raju Panda and challaned him under 151, 107, 116 CrPC. On the 7th he came out again.
On May 8, he coaxed the woman’s minor daughter with him. The victim’s family lodged a complaint at the Pipri police station on May 9, but no action was taken. When suddenly the dispute increased, Raju Panda took that girl to the police station in 3 days. After this she returned to her home.
My wife didn’t commit suicide, she was poisoned
There was a wedding in the victim’s family on June 16. Everyone had come to the village. The victim also had an elder daughter. When the procession came the next day, she took her father’s phone and ran away with Raju Panda. The girl’s mother gave a complaint in the police station. But the hearing did not happen. On July 2, the woman reached Raju Panda’s house. It was about 3 o’clock in the day. He consumed poison in front of Panda’s house. In a hurry, people took him to the hospital but could not be saved.
On July 2, the woman went to the Tantrik’s house and consumed poison. Police reached the spot but by then everyone had fled.
The husband of the deceased woman says, my wife did not eat poison. He has been fed poison. Two hours after she consumed poison, I got a call that your wife had consumed poison. But I know her, she cannot commit suicide.
Three police teams were engaged, the tantrik was caught
The administration swung into action on this news of suicide. The police formed three teams each to nab the accused. The team started searching for him at every level. Along with Raju, the phone numbers of his 3 brothers and wife were put on surveillance. A location Surat was found in that. The police team reached there. Raju was arrested on 6th July. Along with him, his wife, three brothers have also been caught by the police. The minor daughter was also recovered. But she is not saying anything.
father refuses to take daughter home
On the information of the arrest, the victim was called to the police station. Dainik Bhaskar’s team also reached the police station. The father looked at his daughter but did not say anything. Many people asked many questions to the daughter too but she did not answer any of them. Her only answer was that now I will not go back home. That’s why when the lady constable asked the father, “Will you take him home?” Then his answer was, “He and the tantrik together killed my wife, now what will I do by taking them home. Do whatever they want.”
We accompanied the aggrieved father back to his house. When questioned about not bringing his minor girl, his answer was, Raju made her a fake Aadhaar card and showed her as an adult. On the basis of that, he did a court marriage with her in Manjhanpur. Now that she has decided what we will do by bringing her, she herself has left home twice.

Fear dominated the most in this case of tantra-mantra. Through the same fear, the tantrik first subdued the woman and then her daughter. The wife chose death and the daughter sided with the tantrik. The afflicted father is now left alone. He cries while talking about his wife. Let’s talk about taking care of four small children.
