Manpreet Badal was the finance minister in the previous Congress government. However, this time he lost the election from Bathinda. After this he joined BJP. Union Minister Piyush Goyal got him to join BJP.

After the electoral defeat, he went abroad. He was running angry with the Congress after Amarinder Singh made Raja Warding the chief.

Manpreet Singh Badal also kept distance from Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra. That is why he has not been seen anywhere since the beginning of the journey in Punjab. According to sources, Manpreet Badal was not taken along in the yatra because of his rift with the current Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warding.
