Heavy rains continue in Rajasthan due to Biparjoy storm. The Jaipur Meteorological Center has issued a red alert on Monday, anticipating heavy to very heavy rains in Sawai Madhopur, Bundi districts. At the same time, Orange Alert has been issued for Kota, Karauli, Baran, Bhilwara and Tonk.

Flood situation in Pali, Jalore, Barmer and Sirohi

It rained in many districts of the state in the last 24 hours. Rainfall up to 300 mm i.e. 12 inches was recorded at many places. There are flood like situations in Pali, Jalore, Barmer and Sirohi. So far 7 people have died due to floods and rains in the state.

According to the Meteorological Center Jaipur, on June 19 and 20, the effect of Biparjoy will be in Bharatpur, Kota division. The cyclone will further weaken and convert into a low pressure area from the depression. The cyclone is currently moving towards the North-East direction at a speed of 10 km per hour.

Jalore received maximum rainfall due to the cyclone. Here during 36 hours (from 8:30 am on June 17 to 8:30 pm on June 18) 456 mm i.e. 18 inches of water fell. Similarly, Ahor (Jalore) recorded 471 mm of rain, Bhinmal 217, Ranivada 322, Chitalwana 338, Sanchore 296, Jaswantpura 332, Bagoda 310 and Sayla 411 mm. Due to this the situation in Jalore became uncontrollable. Thousands of people were taken to safer places with the help of NDRF-SDRF.
