The Delhi Police on Friday arrested Abhinav Prakash, a youth from New Delhi, for allegedly spreading a bomb rumor in SpiceJet’s Delhi-Pune flight. He is a Trainee Ticketing Agent for British Airways. On Thursday evening, Delhi’s IGI Airport aircraft was stopped for search after the news of the bomb being found. However, no bomb was found in the plane.

DCP Ravi Kumar Singh of IGI Airport said that the accused gave complete information during interrogation. He told that his friends Rakesh and Kunal had gone on a road trip to Manali. There he became friends with two girls. All four came to Delhi. Both the girls were going from Delhi to Pune by SpiceJet flight. The friends wanted the girls not to go to Pune immediately.

Friends told me to make a plan to delay the flight. At his behest, the three of us together planned to inform the call center of SpiceJet about the bomb in the plane. Kunal and Rakesh are still absconding.
Aircraft searched at airport
SpiceJet’s Delhi-Pune flight was searched on Thursday evening following reports of a bomb being found at the Delhi airport. The plane was to take off from Delhi’s IGI airport at 6.30 pm today. On receiving a call about a bomb, airline officials stopped boarding and called in the bomb squad. Later investigation did not find anything suspicious in the plane. CISF and Delhi Police were also kept on standby.
