Punjab BJP leader Sunil Jakhar.

Punjab’s BJP leader Sunil Jakhar has come out in favor of Pakistan. He has appealed for the help of Pakistan which is involved in terrorist incidents in India. Sunil Jakhar tweeted and said –

Everyone knows that millions of people in Pakistan are short of food, in fact bankrupt Pakistan is in dire need of help. Of course Pakistan is our very staunch enemy. But putting aside its animosity and rancor, a confident India must support its troubled neighbor.

In the end, he wrote, “Let us repay the spirit of goodwill, which made the Kartarpur Corridor possible.”

Jakhar left Congress and joined BJP.
Sunil Jakhar was earlier in Congress. In Punjab, he was being made CM after Captain Amarinder Singh was removed from the chair. However, some Congressmen opposed it by talking about Sikh State-Sikh CM. Because of which Jakhar could not become the first Hindu CM of Punjab. After this, sourness arose with his Congress. Even during the elections, he made a lot of statements about the Congress. Due to this, a notice was issued to him from the Congress High Command. Upset with this, Jakhar left the Congress. After which he joined BJP.

Political journey of Sunil Jakhar
Sunil Jakhar was a prominent Hindu leader of the Punjab Congress. He is a resident of Panchkosi village of Abohar. His father Balram Jakhar was also among the stalwarts of the Congress. His family has been associated with the Congress for three generations. Jakhar was first elected MLA from Abohar city in 2002. He became MLA for 3 times from here. After this, he was also the Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Legislative Assembly from 2012 to 2017. Sunil Jakhar had won the Gurdaspur Lok Sabha seat, considered a BJP stronghold, with a huge margin in 2017. When Captain became CM after 2017, Jakhar remained the head of Punjab Congress.
