SSOC Fazilka team with the seized consignment.

The Punjab Police has succeeded in busting the network of heroin smuggling in the state. A consignment worth Rs 140 crore that came from across the border has also been seized. DGP Gaurav Yadav told that two persons have also been arrested, whose interrogation is on to get information about their network.

This consignment that came from across the border has been caught by the team of State Special Operation Cell (SSCO) Fazilka. DGP Gaurav Yadav told that this consignment was dropped by Pakistani smugglers through drones in village Hastaklan. Whose information was received by SSCO. The SSCO team laid a trap to nab the smugglers. After which the team succeeded in catching two smugglers.

SSCO caught the smugglers when they were taking the consignment from the Indian border to further. Police recovered a consignment of 20 kg heroin from the smugglers. Whose international value is being estimated around Rs 140 crore.

At present, FIR has been registered against both the smugglers under the NDPS Act. Inquiries are being made to get information about other people associated with these smugglers.
