Due to the snowfall in the mountains for the last two days, winter can once again set a new record. Meteorologists predict that January 2023 could be historically cold, given the temperature of the first 11 days of January and the possibility of a drop in mercury next week.

Here, an avalanche occurred on Thursday in Baltal near Zojila Pass in Sonamarg, Jammu and Kashmir. After heavy snowfall in Gangotri Dham, the mercury dropped to -3 degrees. Snowfall on Thursday in Ladakh’s Drass, Kargil, Kashmir’s Sonmarg, Gulmarg, Pahalgaon, Ganderbal, Qazikund, Himachal’s Shimla, Manali, Dharamshala, Lahaul Spiti, Keylong, Bhuntar and Uttarakhand’s Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri for the last two days. It is continuing and it is likely to continue in the hilly states of the north till Friday evening. The weather will clear in all these areas from January 14, while a new round of cold wave will start in the entire North-Western India from the night of January 14 due to change in wind direction.

On January 15-16, the temperature will fall once again in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and UP. In most areas of these regions, the minimum temperature can go below 5 degree Celsius, in many areas the mercury can even go below zero.

Now know the condition of the weather in the states…

Delhi: The minimum temperature reached 9.3 degrees and reached 20.2 degrees in the afternoon.
In Delhi, the minimum temperature reached 9.3 degrees on Thursday and 20.2 degrees in the afternoon, but there was light rain in the evening. The long period of dry weather that lasted for 91 days came to an end in Delhi. It rained on the Thursday before October 12, 22. According to the meteorologist, once again after Saturday, the icy cold wave is going to hit Delhi. Weather expert Navdeep Dahiya said that the next cold wave phase is going to be dangerous in true sense. There will be severe cold between 14 and 17 January. It will be on peak for three days on 16, 17 and 18 January. Earlier in my career, I have not seen the mercury falling so much. It can remain between minus four to two degrees Celsius in the plains. According to Dahiya, there are still three days left, due to disturbance and change in other circumstances, there may be a decrease in it. But he told that in the meantime, fog will play an important role in the night temperature, which is going to be very interesting in the coming days. Either there will be severe cold in the morning or there will be a very cold wave of icy cold during the day.

But, this time the weather is playing tricks. Due to this, the forecast of the department is proving wrong again and again. According to the alert till now, there has been no rain and snowfall. The Western Disturbance is looking weak without rain. It was sunny in other areas including Shimla since Thursday morning. Earlier on January 4, an alert was issued that there would be heavy snowfall in the state on January 6 and 7. Even then, on the day of the alert, there was sunshine all over the state. In such a situation, drought-like conditions have started to develop in the state. Farmers and gardeners are not able to sow their crops. Apple growers are not able to make scales. At the same time, deep fog will remain in Punjab and Haryana from today. Cold wave will also continue.
