The landslide washed away a large portion of the road at the mouth of the Panthyal tunnel on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway 44.

Prior to this, in July 2003, there was 133.4 mm of rain in 24 hours. On the other hand, on July 21, 2013, 123.4 mm of rain was recorded in Delhi. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain for the next 4 days.
Here, on the National Highway 44 between Srinagar and Jammu, traffic has been stopped at the mouth of the Panthyal tunnel due to a large part of the road being washed away. Traffic has been closed due to landslides on NH-44, Mughal Road and Leh-Ladakh Road, three routes connecting Srinagar Valley with the country.
Presently only Sinthan Road is open. Hundreds of vehicles are stranded in Udhampur due to the closure of NH. At the same time, due to bad weather in South Kashmir, the Amarnath Yatra has been stopped for the second consecutive day. Due to this, 6 thousand Amarnath pilgrims are stuck in Ramban.

The weather will be clear in these states: There is no possibility of rain in Rayalseema of Andhra Pradesh, Marathawad of Maharashtra and Gangetic West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
