त्रिपुरा-नगालैंड-मेघालय में चुनाव की तारीखों का ऐलान आज: चुनाव आयोग दोपहर 2.30 बजे प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस करेगा,

The Election Commission is going to hold a press conference on Wednesday at 2.30 pm. During this, the Commission can announce the dates of elections in Nagaland, Meghalaya and Tripura. The tenure of all the three assemblies of the Northeast is ending on different dates. In such a situation, elections will be held here only in February.

It may be noted that the term of the Legislative Assembly ends on March 12 in Nagaland, March 15 in Meghalaya and March 22 in Tripura.

CEC visited all the three states on 11 January
On January 11, a team of the Election Commission along with Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar visited the three northeastern states. During this four-day visit, the poll panel met all the political parties there. Along with this, their opinion was sought for conducting the elections together with everyone.

Assembly elections in 9 states before 2024
Before the Lok Sabha elections in 2024, elections will be held in a total of 9 states apart from the northeastern states of Tripura, Meghalaya and Nagaland. After the announcement of the Election Commission, it will be decided that elections will be held first in the North Eastern states. Assembly elections are also likely to be held in Karnataka in April or May.

Apart from this, the term of the 40-member Mizoram Legislative Assembly also ends on December 17 this year. Whereas in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Telangana the term will end on different dates in January 2024.
