Aam Aadmi Party leader Satyendar Jain, lodged in Tihar Jail in a money laundering case, has been admitted to Safdarjung Hospital on Monday. AAP sources told that Satyendar Jain’s health has deteriorated.

Satyendra Jain is in custody since 31 May 2022. On April 6, after the bail plea was rejected by the Delhi High Court, he appealed to the Supreme Court.

Advocate Abhishek M Singhvi had cited the declining health of Satyendar Jain. Singhvi had said that the man has become a skeleton, he has lost 35 kilos in jail. His health is continuously deteriorating and his case is at number 416 on the waiting list.

Jain’s case may be heard in the vacation bench
Summer vacations have started in the Supreme Court. Jain’s lawyer had told that he should be allowed to hear in the vacation bench. On this, the bench gave him permission to go to the vacation bench. In the Supreme Court, a bench of Justices AS Bopanna and Hima Kohli has issued a notice to the ED on Satyendra’s plea in the money laundering case, seeking a response.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had launched a money-laundering probe against Jain on August 24, 2017, on the basis of an FIR lodged by the CBI. From February 14, 2015 to May 31, 2017, Satyendar Jain had purchased movable properties in the name of several persons. For which they could not give a satisfactory account. Along with him, a case was also registered against Poonam Jain, Ajit Prasad Jain, Sanil Kumar Jain, Vaibhav Jain and Ankush Jain.

2 prisoners kept in Satyendra’s cell, notice to superintendent
