Traffic has come to a halt on the Pathankot-Chamba National Highway in Himachal’s Chamba-based tribal sub-division Bharmour due to falling of huge rocks. Due to the closure of NH, Bharmour’s contact with the district headquarters as well as the country has been cut off. This is the only road to connect the entire Bharmour sub-division with the rest of the world. Due to its blocking, the residents of the area will be forced to face huge mental problems.
These rocks have fallen near the tunnel located a few kilometers away from Khadmukh on Thursday morning. Due to which the direct traffic system between Bharmour-Chamba has been blocked. Due to the fall of these rocks, this part of the road where is closed for vehicular movement. At the same time, passing through here is not free from danger. People are passing through this part of the road on foot with their lives at stake.
People are facing problems due to the closure of NH.
It may take time to restore the road
NH Division Chamba’s Executive Engineer Sanjeev Mahajan says that the rocks are very big. Because of which it may take time to open this road part. But the department is busy in restoring this road for traffic as soon as possible.
