Isha Koppikar talks about the meaning of Republic Day for her and her family.
On the occasion of Republic Day 2023, Isha Koppikar revealed that her grandfather worked as a doctor during the Indo-China war. He also talked about the values he has imbibed from them.
Actress Isha Koppikar has been a part of several Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Marathi films. An actress-turned-politician, Isha is best known for her roles in Krishna Cottage, Ek Vivah Aisa Bhi, D, Don and others. Her modeling work gave her an introduction to the film industry and her first film appearance in 1997 in the Telugu film W/o V. Vara Prasad. Army. On Republic Day, in an exclusive conversation with News18 Shosha, Esha shares the values she has learned from her grandfather and how her family celebrates January 26 every year.
She says, “I am an ardent lover of national days and Republic Day is one day where I leave no stone unturned to show my love for the country. From dressing up in tricolor to hoisting the flag with everyone, I make sure to join in the celebrations and don’t take this day as a holiday lightly. My daughter Riana also loves Republic Day and looks forward to all the activities.”
Talking about the values she learned from her grandfather who served in the armed forces, Esha said, “At a very young age, I lost my grandfather. But I grew up listening to his stories and he was no less than a hero to me. He served as a doctor during the Sino-Indian War. I remember he always wrote ‘Indian’ in the religion column because he always kept his national identity above all. My grandfather’s sacrifice inspires me every day. We still follow his discipline at home. My father used to tell me how my grandfather was always alert, punctual and obedient. Above all, it was my grandfather’s disciplined life that set him apart from the rest. I learned a lot from him.”
India celebrates Republic Day on 26 January every year since 1950 when the constitution was made India Came into effect. And we as common man can imagine how much sacrifices they make for our beloved country. ,
The Ek Se Bhera Ek actress says, “When a soldier goes to war, his family also makes a sacrifice. This is a very emotional subject for me because being away from home for months, often under adverse conditions, they miss out on the normal life that we citizens are so used to. And not only them, their families also learn to live life without them. Birthdays, festivals, hardships, school meetings, sports days – there is a dearth of them at every event in life, and a sad dearth at every moment. I salute them!”
When asked about her thoughts on patriotism and the armed forces protecting the country, Isha says, “The Indian Armed Forces are very disciplined and have the utmost respect for human rights laws and international human rights laws…and this is where I feel proud it occurs. , This is because we Indians not only live for our country but can also die for our country. And that is the true meaning of being patriotic.”
