With several cases of Zika virus being reported in Kanpur in the last two weeks, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said the city government is on alert and monitoring developments.

In a statement, Adityanath said that few cases of Zika virus have been reported from Kanpur, and appropriate steps should be taken to protect and treat the affected patients.

He said that cleanliness, sanitization, fogging and anti-larval spraying should be done continuously.

He said that this would prove to be effective in controlling Zika virus and other communicable diseases.
