Marvel fans may be looking forward to the release of the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home starring Tom Holland and Zendaya. However, one thing that’s more exciting than watching a superhero movie is Zendaya’s red carpet looks. The 25-year-old actress understands how to incorporate Easter eggs into her red carpet looks.
For her recent red carpet look at the film’s London premiere, Zendaya chose to wear a creation by British designer Alexander McQueen. The Emmy Award-winning actress was styled by her well-known stylist and collaborator Law Roach. Her outfit was a tribute to the Spider-Man franchise with crystal raindrop embroidery resembling webbing on her double-breasted blazer and thigh-high boots. Zendaya chose a pair of spiderweb pattern diamond earrings and spider-and-pearl pendants.
This isn’t the first time Zendaya’s red carpet look has referenced Spider-Man characters and paid tribute to the multiverse, as revealed in the film’s trailer. Earlier in November, the actress wore a vintage Roberto Cavalli dress to the 2021 Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris. Zendaya’s dress featured a golden spine ornament at the back.
Soon after her first appearance, Zendaya compared her outfit to that of Doctor Octopus. The actress shared a photo of her red carpet look next to Doctor Octopus on Instagram Story and wrote, “We love a reference.”
Tom and Zendaya, who are also dating in real life, recently appeared on British chat show The Graham Norton Show. During her appearance for the television talk-show, Zendaya was seen wearing a green pantsuit, which she paired with a purple shirt underneath.
Astute fans of Spider-Man pointed out how the actress’ outfit was a tribute to the Green Goblin, another villain in the film.
Spider-Man: No Way Home will hit theaters on Thursday, December 16.
