Zakir Khan calls out filmmakers over Dialogue writing & translation, says ‘English me hi bana lo…’

Zakir Khan, one of India’s most accomplished stand-up comedians, has won millions of hearts with his engaging stand-up performances laced with anecdotal humour. Being an ardent film enthusiast himself, Zakir recently took to social media and urged filmmakers not to force themselves to translate dialogues. He criticized ‘translating dialogue writing’ and said, it can be difficult to translate English into another language ‘word for word’, thus, there is no need to translate every word.

“Dear filmmakers, when you hire a dialogue writer, let him write. Don’t just force him to translate. An English expression is an ‘English fu*king expression’ which cannot be translated word for word into Hindi. It can be done. Also Hindi speaking people speak many words in English. So relax friend! There is no need to get every word translated.
