Yuvraj Singh’s hidden dig on Ravichandran Ashwin? All-rounder pulled up on social media, fans believe

Yuvraj Singh’s tweet is in all the headlines, but for all the wrong reasons. The former India all-rounder had praised Jos Buttler for maintaining the spirit of the game but it was the last part of the tweet that caught the attention of fans who slammed the World Cup winner for ‘jealousy’. Some of them felt that his lines: ‘Some of his teammates should learn from him’ meant for a player: Yes, you guessed it right: Ravi Ashwin.

The incident happened in the 12th over of the GT innings. Then Hardik Pandya hit a shot off Jimmy Neesham’s ball. The ball nearly hit the boundary when Butler gave his all and stopped the ball, but he made a mistake and stepped over the boundary line, throwing it back. Earlier, the England batsman had admitted that he was unsure and asked the umpire to take it up.

Responding to this, Singh praised Butler for maintaining the spirit of the game. “We still have gentlemen in the game of cricket!!! @josbuttler Other players should learn from him especially teammates!!” He tweeted.

But it was the last part of this tweet which meant that he is probably taking a dig at Ashwin. Fans lashed out at the all-rounder and said that he was just jealous of Ashwin and he should have avoided doing so. Here are some reactions:

The entire incident between Butler and Ashwin dates back to IPL 2019, when the latter ran the former for going too far from the crease. This whole thing later came to be known as Mankading Affair which created quite a stir in world cricket at that time. Fans believe that Yuvi’s tweet is an indirect take on the India off-spinner.

Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans won the match easily to top the points table with four wins from five matches. They beat Royals by 37 runs with the ball and bat from captain Hardik Pandya.
