Yuvika Chaudhary arrested under SC/ST Act, out on interim bail

Bigg Boss fame actress Yuvika Choudhary landed in trouble a few months back when she was heard using casteist slurs in a viral video.

The actress has now been booked by the Haryana Police on Monday (October 18, 2021). Yuvika was later released on interim bail, reports ANI. According to her lawyer, the actress joined the investigation as per the guidelines of the High Court.

“My client has joined the investigation as per the guidelines given by the High Court and is currently out on interim bail (in the case of alleged objectionable remarks against Scheduled Castes on social media platforms): Ashok Bishnoi, counsel for actress Yuvika Chaudhary,” The news agency quoted the lawyer as saying.

A case was registered against Yuvika in May this year. The police had then registered an FIR against the actress under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

Yuvika had spoken of casteist abuse in a video filmed by her husband Prince Narula. She allegedly used casteist slurs in this clipping, which went viral on social media within no time and came on people’s radar. Yuvika later apologized on social media saying that she did not know the meaning of the said word.

“Hello guys I didn’t know the meaning of the word which I used in my previous vlog, I didn’t mean to hurt anyone and I can never do this to hurt anyone I apologize to everyone Am I hope you understand your love all (sic)” Choudhary had tweeted.
