YouTube Music has received a new update that brings a slew of new features to the Google-owned music streaming app. The update brings an improved radio algorithm, new Shuffle, new interface changes, family listening changes, and more. The new features come as part of Google’s development plans for YouTube Music that were scheduled for February and March this year. With this new update, the YouTube app for Wear OS has also now left users to shuffle all their downloaded music in one go.
New features come as part of GoogleA list of improvements to YouTube Music that were made in February and March. The company has improved its radio algorithm to feature more artists. Team youtube stated that it has improved the back-end logic that nominates the music that appears in Radio Songs to increase artist diversity in these playlists. This means that selecting a song from the search results will now only play that track instead of generating the radio station of the mix. However, the autoplay option will remain and users can turn it on from the ‘Up Next’ queue.

The app also brings a new feature called Family Shelf which restricts family listening to a single place. It includes a personalized family mix and other playlists. The Listen shelf again on smart TVs and gaming consoles will also stop showing duplicates. Instead, it will display an increased number of results.
YouTube is also bringing the ability to shuffle YouTube Music downloaded directly from the YouTube WearOS app. It lets users shuffle all their downloaded music instead of being limited to ordered play and playlist shuffle.

Separately, a report states that YouTube is bringing podcasts Youtube Musiclike to pick up competitors Apple And Spotify. The report cites an 84-page document that outlines the company’s roadmap for better podcast integration. According to this leaked document, YouTube is planning to integrate podcasts into the platform.
