20 YouTube channels and two websites were closed for spreading fake news and rumors against India. Once again, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur has warned that such action will continue against those who conspire against the country.

The minister said this in a press conference. He said that action will be taken against websites and channels spreading anti-India content and conspiring. Earlier in the year 2021, the central government had blocked 20 YouTube channels and two websites running propaganda against India.

At the same time, senior lawyer and former Union Minister Kapil Sibal tweeted on this and said that when a minister says that, any website or YouTube channel which spreads lies and divides the society, will be blocked then will it? Will it also apply to the party that made it an art?

In fact, in December last year, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in collaboration with intelligence agencies, ordered the blocking of 20 YouTube channels and two websites. Because they were spreading anti-India propaganda and fake news. “These 20 YouTube channels and websites are related to networks operating from Pakistan and were spreading fake news about various sensitive topics related to India,” the ministry said in a statement in December.

Let us tell you that the websites and channels which were banned were running false news about Kashmir, Indian Army, General Bipin Rawat, Ram temple and minority communities in India. Along with the action, the central government had also published a list of these channels.
