Youth beheaded in Tirupur | Coimbatore News – Times of India

COIMBATORE: A youth was beheaded at Serangadu near Nallur in Tirupur by an unidentified gang on Sunday night.
The deceased has been identified as M Sathish, 25, of Konarajapuram near Mayiladuthurai. He was working at Amman embroidery company at Serangadu and was staying in the company’s room.
His friend, D Ranjith, 20, of Sukkampatti village in Trichy district, was also working with Sathish and staying with him.
Ranjith told the police that he and Sathish were consuming liquor near a private matriculation school at Serangadu around 10.30pm on Sunday. A gang of unidentified people came there on three motorcycles. The gang threatened them at knifepoint and attempted to snatch mobile phones and money from them.
However, Sathish fought back, following which the beheaded him with a sickle. The gang took the deceased’s head with them. The gang assaulted Ranjith. Ranjith managed to reach the main road and sought help from locals. He was taken to the Tirupur Government Medical College Hospital and was admitted for treatment.
The police recovered the headless body and sent it to the hospital for postmortem.
Tirupur city police commissioner AG Babu has formed four special teams to trace the head of the deceased and to nab the gang.
Police said Ranjtih was facing a criminal case at Musiri police station in Trichy district.
