The latest incident involves an 8-year-old victim, Adityashree, where reports suggest that she was using the mobile phone to watch a video when the device suddenly exploded around 10:30 pm on Monday. Adityashree was a Class III student studying at Christ New Life School in Tiruvilvamala. Further details of the report suggest that the phone could explode due to overheating which usually happens when a person uses the phone excessively. The report also talks about replacing the phone’s battery, which may or may not be involved in the accident.

The phone’s battery unit contains cells that require the correct amount of charge (heating) to circulate the phone’s charging level.
