Balkaur Singh, father of slain singer Sidhu Moose Wala in the presence of thousands of supporters and top Congress leaders, on Sunday criticized Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s claim that “law and order is under control”.

Addressing a gathering at Moose Wala’s ‘anniversary’ in Mansa, Singh claimed that “the heyday of gangsters was going on in Punjab, the common man felt insecure”.

“Gangsters came to my doorstep because they knew the state government was sleeping. Today we are forced to take note [Uttar Pradesh CM] Yogi [Adityanath], Mark my words, in the Lok Sabha elections, you will be forced to vote for Yogi as you will start comparing UP with Punjab, saying UP has become clean… what has happened to our state,” Singh said. Said.

Singh questioned the state government over the alleged slow investigation into the murder. He also questioned the timing of the action initiated against Khalistani sympathizer Amritpal Singh and the suspension of internet services in the state when his son’s death anniversary was being observed. “Internet is functional in Punjab jails, but it shuts down in the region when there is an anniversary event. Gangsters like Lawrence Bishnoi are giving interviews from inside high-security jails, while those who wanted to attend our event were stopped by the police,” alleged Singh.

Accompanied by slogans against the state government, Singh alleged that the crackdown on Amritpal was only an attempt to ensure that Moose Wala’s fans did not attend the event.
