Yogini Ekadashi 2021: There is 1 Ekadashi Tithi in each Paksha of every month. Each of these Ekadashi is known by different names. Ekadashi Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Ashadha month is called Yogini Ekadashi Tithi. Yogini Ekadashi fast will be observed on 5th July 2021. Lord Vishnu is worshiped by observing Yogini Ekadashi fast. Regarding this Ekadashi, Lord Krishna has said that the result of fasting on Yogini Ekadashi is equal to feeding 88 thousand Brahmins.

According to the Panchang, Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha of Ashadh month will start from 07:55 pm on Sunday, July 04 and this Ekadashi will end on July 5 at 10:30 pm. Along with the Uday date, Ekadashi date will also be on 5th July. Therefore the fast of Yogini Ekadashi will be kept on 5th July 2021.

Devotees will observe Yogini Ekadashi fast on 5th July and conclude it on 6th July. On this day, devotees can end the fast between 05:29 am to 08:16 am. According to the rules of Ekadashi fast, the fast should be broken before the end of Dwadashi date.

In ancient times, a gardener named Hem worked for King Kuber of Alkapuri city. It was his responsibility to bring flowers from Mansarovar every day for the worship of Lord Shiva. One day the gardener was late in bringing flowers. This angered King Kubera. He cursed Hem. According to the curse Hem will suffer from leprosy, and will be separated from his wife.

Due to the curse, the victim Hem went astray and reached the hermitage of Markandeya Rishi. Knowing the condition of the gardener there, the sage asked him to observe Yogini Ekadashi fast. Hem is benefitted by observing Yogini Ekadashi fast. His leprosy was cured and he attained salvation.
